Lucy and Ethel’s disastrous stint at the candy factory is one of those scenes that lives on in the cultural landscape of sitcoms decades later, with tons of shows paying homage to this hilarious sequence. When they can’t keep up with the conveyor belt full of chocolates, they frantically stuff the sweets into their mouths, hats, and blouses in an attempt to hide them. The absurdity of it all, with chocolate coming out of the woodwork, still makes me howl with laughter.
