Christina Applegate Shares Heartbreaking MS Update, Feels Like Her Body Is Falling Apart

Christina Applegate’s recent MeSsy Podcast episode was a heartbreaking one as she opened up about living with multiple sclerosis as it progresses. She told her co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler that she no longer has strength in her legs and revealed some insecurities that are starting to unfold.

Applegate added that she can hardly move for long, talk more of performing rigorous physical activities as it leaves her breathless. Also, with her heart muscles wearing out, she now fears the possibility of a heart attack whenever she is too active.

The 52-year-old admitted to Sigler, who is also dealing with MS, that she feels like Humpty Dumpty with her tiny legs and weird-looking menopausal belly due to muscle atrophy in her lower extremities and weight gain around her midsection.

The actress now spends most of her time indoors and in bed, although she tries to leave the house to avoid rotting in the house. Sigler also shared her experience going from being the most athletic teenager ever to being home all the time and unable to do anything vigorous.

Applegate’s friends needed to adjust

Applegate’s condition has been a threat to her social life and some of her friendships because she turns down most invites. Her friends have also had to accommodate her needs by curating fun that is free of rigorous activities.

Applegate also got honest about sometimes canceling on her friends at the last minute because she changed her mind. To avoid altercations, Applegate communicates her condition or needs early on to her new friends. The mother of one had previously discussed the guilt she feels for being unable to parent her teenager because she is always on bed rest.
