Why Pamela Anderson Has Refused To Appear In ‘Baywatch’ Documentary

Hulu’s new Baywatch documentary series debuted on August 28 and has so far gotten nostalgic fans having conversations like Jeremy Jackson’s kink for his female co-stars’ dirty swimsuits. Despite the encouraging feedback this docuseries is getting, Pamela Anderson refused to partake and has rejected all interview invites so far.

A source confirmed that she has no feud with her costars and no regrets about her role as C.J. Parker in the ‘90s series. To make up for her absence, production added footage from an interview with the actress that has never been public.

Why did Pamela Anderson refuse to be part of the ‘Baywatch’ docuseries?

Although Pamela gave no reasons for excluding herself from the newly released Hulu documentary, it is likely because she has moved past her Baywatch phase and is in a new chapter of her life, as evidenced by recent events. 57-year-old Pamela is quite different from back then, as she is now embracing a minimalist and simple style.

It is also likely that Pamela is choosing to focus on her upcoming movie The Last Showgirl, which also features Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, and Billie Lourd. There is also another undisclosed project starring Pamela, meaning the model is quite booked and busy for the rest of the year.

Life beyond ‘Baywatch’

Pamela’s past as a sex symbol in her prime put her on the map as a celebrity. However, she has publicly admitted to leaving that version of herself behind as she ages. Outside of being hot and sultry, she shared a passion for animal protection and was behind several campaigns and motions to protect pets and endangered species.

She also spoke up against pornography in 2016 via an article in the Wall Street Journal and even joined Orthodox rabbi Shmuley Boteach to speak against it at Oxford University. The mother of two has also collaborated with organizations to fight against HIV/AIDS and advocate for road safety. True to her nature as a trailblazer, she recently made the makeup-free look normalized, which is ironic, seeing that she pioneered the smokey-eye makeup of the ‘90s.
